Gold tone with white enamel look round button style clip on earrings from Marboux circa 1960’s. Attractive minimalist design. Goes with virtually everything.
The designer Marcel Boucher of Marboux was born in France and worked for Cartier in the early 1920’s. Cartier brought Boucher to New York where he learned the craft of jewelry making. Boucher started his own company in 1937. His pieces are fairly collectible from those earlier years. In particular his fantasy bird brooches from the 1940’s. Jewelry from the 1960’s such as these earrings are more plentiful and less collectible, but still well made and the timeless designs are quite attractive.
