RARE 1970’s LOUIS VUITTON Monogram Bucket Bag

Here is a wonderful distressed vintage monogrammed LV. Authentic with its Tyvek tag. This is the larger of the 2 sizes of Louis Vuitton bucket bags produced at the time.
Opening: 11.5”
Base: 11” x 8”
Height: 13.5”
Handle drop: 8”

Includes beautiful tanned leather trim that hasn’t been used on this style bag in decades. The leather is worn with great patina. Inner pocket has original Talon zipper and pulls smoothly.

Lining is made with natural material, so it will never have “stickiness” issue that more contemporary LV bags suffer from. There are no holes or tears in the leather or lining. The bag also smells nice – no smoke, makeup or mustiness.
As shown in the photos, this timeless bag has been loved over the years, but it has no major issues. There’s a 3” section on the top where the stitching has come apart and the brass buckles have some green residue underneath. The initials “R.F.D.” have been monogrammed on one side.

This bag was made in the USA. Beginning in the 1970s, Louis Vuitton contracted with the French Company of California to help keep up with US demand. These pieces were sold in luxury retailers including Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus.
